University of Maiduguri Innovation Club Receives Billion-Naira Project Donation
In a groundbreaking event at the University of Maiduguri (Unimaid), the University's Innovation Club witnessed a momentous occasion with the presence of the Vice-Chancellor, principal officers, and the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (CEED).
The gathering commenced with a warm welcome address from the UNIC Coordinator, followed by an inspiring speech by the Director of CEED. However, the highlight of the day was the speech delivered by the Vice-Chancellor himself.
During his address, the Vice-Chancellor passionately shared his vision of nurturing business-oriented graduates at Unimaid and fostering an environment conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship. He expressed his aspirations for Unimaid students to become the next generation of successful business leaders, citing names like Dangote, Abdussamad Rabiu, and Tony Elumelu.
In an extraordinary announcement, the Vice-Chancellor revealed that Abdussamad Rabiu, a prominent Nigerian entrepreneur, has generously donated a project worth one billion naira to the university. To commemorate this significant contribution, Abdussamad Rabiu will visit the Unimaid campus during the combined convocation ceremony on the 17th and 18th of the following month to inaugurate this remarkable project.
Furthermore, the Vice-Chancellor expressed his personal commitment to the University of Maiduguri Innovation Club by pledging to become its first member, highlighting the bright future ahead for Unimaid students in the fields of business and innovation.
This event marks a significant milestone in Unimaid's journey towards becoming a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic excellence.
