University of Maiduguri Issues Guidelines on Campus Farming

The University of Maiduguri has released guidelines on farming activities within the campus, as directed by the Top Management Committee (TMC).

The guidelines aim to maintain the aesthetic appeal and cleanliness of the environment.

Key Guidelines

- Staff are allowed to cultivate crops within the premises of their homes.

- Crops cultivated outside authorized areas will be harrowed.

- Only creeping/low-growing crops below 30cm are permitted within the campus area, except for research purposes.

- Staff must clear their farmlands immediately after the harvest period.

- Defaulters will be charged N50,000, to be deducted from their source by the Bursar.

- Staff who default will be denied permission to cultivate farmland during the next crop year.
