University of Maiduguri's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Laminu Mele, Receives Congratulations from Lake Chad Research Institute

Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, welcomed a delegation from the Lake Chad Research Institute, led by Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Professor Babagana Kabir, on Monday, September 30, 2024.

The visit aimed to congratulate Professor Mele on his appointment as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University, which was approved by the Governing Council on September 18, 2024 . Professor Mele, a distinguished scholar in English Language and Linguistics, brings over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and community service to his new role .

As the former Acting Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Central Administration), Professor Mele has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the university. His academic achievements have earned him numerous prestigious awards, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the field of English Language and Linguistics .
