The Vice-Chancellor, Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, reaffirmed the university’s readiness to scale collaboration with the diaspora alumni body, particularly ahead of the 2026 Biennial Alumni Convention and Educational Conference scheduled to hold in Newcastle, United Kingdom.

Outcomes from the high-level engagement indicate a structured push toward strengthening the Faculty of Medicine. The Vice-Chancellor approved the appointment of faculty alumni coordinators, naming Osita Umeononihu and Chioma Mbachu to lead engagement efforts. He also directed the deployment of dedicated desk officers within the Alumni Office to improve coordination and operational efficiency.

The UK/Ireland chapter reiterated its commitment to supporting key infrastructure projects, including classroom development and furnishing of the newly designated Alumni Office.
