The Victims Support Fund (VSF), under the leadership of Lt. General Theophilus Y. Danjuma GCON, has made a significant impact by awarding scholarships to students from tertiary institutions in Niger, Adamawa, and Katsina States—areas profoundly affected by insurgency and banditry.
On August 19, 2024, Dr. Adamu Mohammad Jebba, Dean of Student Affairs at the College of Education (COE), Minna, officiated the scholarship award ceremony. Dr. Jebba presented award letters to the beneficiaries from the College and provided essential guidance on completing the required forms to ensure that students could effectively utilize the scholarships.
Institutions and Eligibility:
The scholarship program targeted students from eight institutions in Niger State, including:
Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna
College of Education Minna
Federal College of Education Kontagora
To qualify for the scholarships, students were required to meet the following criteria:
- Be from regions significantly impacted by insurgency or banditry
- Maintain a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) above 2.5
- Be in their final year of study
The scholarships are designed to support students from vulnerable regions, enabling them to complete their education amidst challenging circumstances. This initiative aims to provide financial relief and empower these students to pursue their academic goals and build a brighter future, despite the adversities they have faced.
