Wesley University Ondo Secures NUC Approval for Medicine, Pharmacy, and New Programs
Wesley University, Ondo, has achieved a major academic milestone with the approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to introduce Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy, and other new programs for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Wesley University, Ondo, has achieved a major academic milestone with the approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to introduce Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy, and other new programs for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The NUC granted approval following resource verification visits by expert panels, which assessed the university’s human and material resources. A statement from the NUC, signed by Acting Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar Girei, on behalf of the Acting Executive Secretary, confirmed the approval, which was issued on September 30, 2024.
The newly approved programs include:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
- Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPhysio)
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
- B.Sc. Anatomy
- B.Sc. Physiology
- B.HIM Health Information Management
- Postgraduate and doctoral programs in Theology
This development aligns with Wesley University’s strategic goals, led by Vice-Chancellor Rt. Rev Prof. Samuel Sunday Obeka, to expand academic offerings at the university’s permanent site. The Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to the Methodist Church Nigeria for its continued support and congratulated the university community on this significant achievement.
