Winners of 2024 SystemSpecs Children’s Day Essay Competition Goes Home with N1 Million Each
The prestigious competition, aimed at promoting intellectual development among Nigerian youth aged 9 to 16, concluded with a grand ceremony where winners were celebrated for their outstanding essays.
Bakare Oluwasubomi from Ijaiye Ojokoro Senior High School in Lagos State and Aletan Oluwajuwonlo from Apostolic Faith Secondary School in Ibadan, Oyo State, emerged victorious in the senior and junior categories respectively of the 2024 SystemSpecs Children’s Day Essay Competition (CDEC), with a price of 1 million naira each.

The prestigious competition, aimed at promoting intellectual development among Nigerian youth aged 9 to 16, concluded with a grand ceremony where winners were celebrated for their outstanding essays. Both overall winners received ₦1 million each, while second-place winners were awarded ₦750,000 and third-place winners received ₦500,000. Additionally, all top achievers were presented with brand new laptops, plaques, and other valuable prizes.
Anoje Xavier of Loyola Jesuit College in Abuja secured the first runner-up position in the senior category, followed by Elugbaju Iseoluwa from Word Faith Group of Schools in Abuja as the second runner-up. In the junior category, Olowookere Anuoluwa from Redeemer’s Academy College in Ibadan claimed the first runner-up spot, while Gershom Somtochuhwu from Trinitate Staff School in Ikwerre, Rivers State, emerged as the second runner-up.
