YABATECH Appoints New Bursar and Registrar
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has appointed Mr. John Olusola Dada as the new Bursar and Mrs. Henrietta Adebola Gbemisola Badejo as the new Registrar.
The authorities of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) have announced the appointments of Mr. John Olusola Dada as the new substantive Bursar and Mrs. Henrietta Adebola Gbemisola Badejo as the new substantive Registrar. The appointments were approved by the institution’s Governing Council and are set to take effect on January 2, 2025, for a five-year tenure.
In a statement issued on December 10, 2024, by the Acting Registrar, Dr. E.J.A. Akinwale, both appointments were confirmed following thorough consideration by the College’s governing body.
Mr. Dada, the incoming Bursar, is a seasoned Professional Accountant with extensive experience in management and finance. He hails from Efon Alaaye in Ekiti State and is an alumnus of CAC Grammar School, Efon Alaaye, and The Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, among other institutions. With over 30 years of working experience spanning the Polytechnic, University, and Private sectors, Mr. Dada is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and holds memberships in the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of Nigeria (ACIMA).
Mr. Dada’s distinguished career has seen him receive several commendations for his work, including five recognitions from YABATECH Management in 2008, 2009, 2020, 2022, and 2023. His accolades stem from his contributions to the college’s accounting practices, particularly in TETFund activities, and his efforts to computerize and digitalize the Bursary Department. He was also instrumental in securing significant grants for the institution, including a $200,000 Ford Foundation grant and a $1,000,000 FCDO/UNICEF grant to train 5,750 girls in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) skills.
An accomplished auditor and chartered accountant, Mr. Dada has also played pivotal roles in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) at various levels. He is married with children.
Mrs. Badejo, the new Registrar, also brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the institution. Further details on her background and accomplishments are expected to be shared shortly.
With these new appointments, YABATECH is poised for continued progress as the new officials take on their roles in January 2025.
