A 15-year-old female student of Anglican Grammar School, Arigidi Akoko, Ondo State, has been remanded at the Ondo State Juvenile Home in Akure for allegedly stabbing her 17-year-old schoolmate, Habib Salau, to death. The order for her remand was issued by Chief Magistrate Olateju Odenusi-Fadeyi, pending the advice of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The defendant, whose plea was not taken, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder. According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on October 3, around 3:30 p.m., at Imo, Arigidi Akoko, following a scuffle between the two students after school hours.
The Prosecutor, Josephine Awana, informed the court that the defendant and another individual, who is currently at large, were involved in the alleged murder. Awana stated that the accused had accused Salau of confronting her on the way home after a disagreement. The confrontation allegedly escalated into a fight, during which the defendant claimed that an unidentified person handed her a knife and instructed her to stab Salau in the neck.
