1,500 Corps Members Take Oath of Allegiance in Anambra
Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, who represented the State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, advised the corps members to shun negative behaviours such as cultism, drug addiction, substance abuse, cybercrime, and kidnapping. He called for collaboration among law enforcement agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and town unions to eradicate such vices from society.
A total of 1,500 prospective Corps members, consisting of 714 males and 786 females, who were posted to Anambra State, have taken the oath of allegiance at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area. The swearing-in ceremony was administered by Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, the state's Chief Judge.
Mrs. Blessing Iruma, the Anambra NYSC State Coordinator, expressed gratitude for the support of the state government and host communities. She noted the increasing focus on skill acquisition due to the scarcity of white-collar jobs, and highlighted the NYSC's introduction of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program to address this need.

Iruma encouraged the corps members to actively participate in camp activities and adapt to their new camp environment.

Governor Soludo pledged continued support for the NYSC's activities in the state, recognizing the scheme's contributions to education, health, agriculture, and rural infrastructure.
The Chairman of the NYSC governing board, Anambra State, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba, welcomed the corps members to Anambra, urging them to obey camp rules and make the most of the teachings and training during their service year.
