Ondo Governor Akeredolu Commits to Ensuring Corps Members' Safety
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony for the 2023 Batch ‘C’ (Stream 1) corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ikare-Akoko, Governor Akeredolu, represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Otunba Bamidele Ologun, expressed his administration's commitment to ensuring the well-being of corps members.
Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, has underscored the importance of the safety and welfare of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state during their service year.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony for the 2023 Batch ‘C’ (Stream 1) corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ikare-Akoko, Governor Akeredolu, represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Otunba Bamidele Ologun, expressed his administration's commitment to ensuring the well-being of corps members.

"As a responsible government, I want to say, without mincing words that your welfare and security would be adequately catered for during your service year as I also want to enjoin the stakeholders of the Scheme to continue to support the NYSC in her bid to perform optimally," he assured.
The governor urged the corps members to take their orientation course seriously to fully understand the benefits of mandatory service to the nation. He also emphasized that his administration would continue to enhance development projects and infrastructure to encourage corps members to stay and live in the state beyond their service year.
The State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani, welcomed the new corps members and appealed to philanthropists, government entities, and well-meaning Nigerians to support the development of the orientation camp. She encouraged the corps members to actively participate in all camp activities and prepare for the challenges of the service year and post-service life.

Honourable Justice Femi Sylvester Akinbinu, a representative of the Chief Judge of Ondo State, administered the Oath of Allegiance to over 1400 corps members who registered for service in the state.
Key stakeholders present at the event included representatives from the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Fire Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, educational institutions, and various government departments.
