NDA Corps Members Presents Proposed Landscape Design For NDA
A team of Corps undergoing their 1-year compulsory national service in the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) have today, 2nd November 2023, presented a landscape design to the Commandant NDA, Major General JO Ochai. The presentation was geared towards improving the overall aesthetic view of the NDA environment in order to improve the quality of life and to achieve a desirable and suitable environment for the Academy

NDA CORPS MEMBERS PRESENT PROPOSED LANDSCAPE DESIGN FOR NDA
A team of Corps undergoing their 1-year compulsory national service in the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) have today, 2nd November 2023, presented a landscape design to the Commandant NDA, Major General JO Ochai. The presentation was geared towards improving the overall aesthetic view of the NDA environment in order to improve the quality of life and to achieve a desirable and suitable environment for the Academy.
In the brief presented by one of the NYSC team members, Mr Peter Nyong, of the NDA Department of Genetics and Biotechnology, he emphasized that the proposal was to enhance the beautification of NDA and project the aesthetic appeal of the Academy.
According to him, the landscape design will among other benefits showcase the layout of NDA to visitors and promote a Greenhouse for the Academy’s use.

To achieve the above, the team recommended the provisions of genetically modified plants in the Greenhouse for sustainability and equipment that will provide a fruit orchard to be added to the NDA Biological Garden. Others are, provision of wetlands and Royal Palm trees, redesign of David Ejoor Gate and the horticulture landscape team to have its own department.
Responding, the Commandant NDA Major General JO Ochai commended the team for the quality of time and work invested in creating a legacy within NDA. He encouraged all staff of the Academy to take the task of beautification of their surroundings seriously.
Furthermore, the Commandant acknowledged that a lot of projects in NDA need a facelift, especially the David Ejoor Gate, NDA Hospital and the sports areas. This, he noted, will reflect a good image for the Academy.
He therefore tasked every staff to water the flowers around their environments and apply manure regularly.
The presentation which took place at the Loyalty Conference room at the NDA Headquarters was attended by the Principal staff officers of the academy.
