In an unprecedented move, 16-year-old student-athlete Darryn Peterson has etched his name in history as the first-ever high school student to be signed by sportswear giant Adidas as a basketball player.

Darryn, currently enrolled at Huntington Preparatory College in West Virginia, United States, has already emerged as the best guard player in his class. His outstanding skills on the court have garnered attention, with 30 Division 1 college sports scholarship offers received during his junior year of high school.

Adidas inked the groundbreaking deal with Darryn under the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) framework, marking a significant milestone in the world of high school sports. The deal not only recognizes his talent but also provides a platform for him to elevate his brand globally.

"The deal gives me the opportunity to take my brand to the next level and spread it around the world. It means a lot. For Adidas to choose me out of all the high school basketball players in the world," expressed Darryn. The deal comes with a valuation of $269,000, and he has earned a spot in the top 25 high school basketball rankings.
