171,956 Police Job Applicants to Take JAMB CBT
Out of the initial 547,774 applicants who applied for the police job when the application portal opened in October 2023, 188,874 were rejected, leaving 358,900 successful candidates.
The Police Service Commission has announced that 171,956 applicants have been shortlisted to take the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) computer-based test (CBT) as part of the police recruitment process.
Following successful completion of credentials and physical screening exercises, the Police Service Commission stated that the JAMB CBT will be conducted on March 5, 2024, across all 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory.

Out of the initial 547,774 applicants who applied for the police job when the application portal opened in October 2023, 188,874 were rejected, leaving 358,900 successful candidates.
Of the successful applicants, 25,818 are female while 146,138 are male. Notably, Adamawa State leads with the highest number of successful candidates, totaling 13,780 applicants, followed by Kaduna, Bauchi, Benue, and Katsina states, respectively.
The Police Recruitment Board approved the JAMB CBT tests for the applicants based on the examination board's "long-standing pedigree in such examinations."For the General Duty cadre, 171,956 applicants have been shortlisted for the JAMB CBT out of the 315,114 invited for screening exercises.

Dr. Solomon Arase, Chairman of the Police Service Commission, expressed commitment to concluding the recruitment exercise promptly to integrate successful candidates into the system, enhancing efforts against insurgency and banditry. He commended President Bola Tinubu for supporting efforts to reinforce and reinvigorate the police force for improved performance.
