37 Students Attain First-Class Honors in Achievers University's 13th Convocation Ceremony

Achievers University in Owo, Ondo, is set to celebrate its 13th convocation ceremony, coinciding with the institution's 16th anniversary. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Omolola Irinoye, announced that out of the 552 graduating students, an impressive 37 will be awarded first-class honors, showcasing the institution's commitment to academic excellence.

During a press briefing, Prof. Irinoye highlighted Achievers University's dedication to providing scholarships and making education accessible to a broader audience. She emphasized that scholarships covering 100 percent tuition fees are offered for 15 programs, demonstrating the university's commitment to inclusive education.

The Vice-Chancellor also emphasized the university's investment in creating a conducive learning environment. Achievers University boasts a state-of-the-art Computer-Based Test center with 250 stations and a Central Laboratory building featuring 17 laboratories catering to basic, life, and health sciences.

Acknowledging the growth of the institution, Prof. Irinoye revealed that Achievers University now has over 800 staff members, with recent additions strengthening the academic and administrative teams. This expansion reflects the university's dedication to fostering an enriching academic community.

Breaking down the graduating class, the Vice-Chancellor provided a detailed overview. Among the 37 students achieving first-class honors, 259 students will be awarded second-class upper division, 195 students will receive second-class lower division, and 27 students will graduate with third-class honors.

The convocation ceremony, scheduled for December 7, 2023, will include the induction of 13 Engineers and the presentation of 137 graduate Nurses to the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Additionally, honorary awards will be conferred on distinguished Nigerians, recognizing their outstanding contributions to society.
