56th SUG Awards Bayero University Kano Vice-Chancellor for Dedication to Students

The 56th Student Union Government (SUG) of Bayero University Kano (BUK) honored the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello, for his exceptional commitment to student welfare. The award, presented during a high-profile gathering with the SUG, recognized the Vice-Chancellor's proactive support and engagement with the student body.

During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor praised the SUG President, Aluta Professor, describing him as one of the most capable and effective SUG leaders he has encountered. In addition to the award, the Vice-Chancellor announced a series of significant measures benefiting the students:

• Extension of Registration Deadline: The registration period has been extended by 17 days, providing students with additional time to complete their enrollment processes.
• Refunds for School Fees and Loans: Students who have applied for loans and paid their school fees will have their payments refunded to their accounts.
• Increased NELFund Allocation: A recent communication from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) confirmed an additional ₦200 million for BUK students, raising the total funding to ₦1 billion.
