Ten Reasons Why Abubakar Tabawa University is Tough

Myschoolnews gathered  list of Some Ten Reasons Why some students consider ATBU as considered Tough

1. Most of the lecturers, including the Doctors and the Professors have at least one or two of their children studying at the institution. So they find it imperative to maintain the high standard they met.

2. Before Gubi Campus, ATBU had only one mini campus approximately 5 square kilometers. This made it difficult to engage in cultism, drug, gang or any form of notoriety which left everyone with huge time to study and compete for high CGPA.

3. Because ATBU is a Technical Institution, sport activities doesn't have solid base as well as there are no courses like Music, Dance, Photography etc to remind you the meaning of the word 'comfort' this is why the only field of competition is the examination hall.

4. ATBU is the only high institution in Nigeria with long chain of prerequisite courses. You may be a fresh student and still had an additional year. You may be offering Ten courses and almost eight are prerequisite to next semester's courses with some having the tendency to cause an additional year of graduation. This is why in ATBU the course registration is per semester and not session as it is in other institutions. 

5.  ATBU was pioneered by Polish Professors before handing over to ABU Zaria as School of Engineering, then regain its autonomy as University of Technology few years later. So imagine a school whose founding fathers were the Europeans. 

6. ATBU's curriculum and modus operandi is based on American Standard. The pass mark is 50 and A grade is 85-100 but they will never admit to that.

7. Dr. Isa Ali Fantami contributed to the tremendous influence and power of MSSN ATBU Chapter first as student then as lecturer. This is why till date, you cannot roam around with a lady or engaged in any immoral activities within the four walls of ATBU without the MSSN ATBU Chapter poking their nose in your affairs which made life a little boring and hard as well in ATBU.

8. ATBU is 50-50 when it comes to the status quo of the parent of the children studying in the institution. So no matter who your dad is, the yardstick for passing your course remain hardwork. Therefore whenever you see those with the 'have not' struggling to pass, you either get motivated to struggle with them or simply fizzle out of the competition to win. Money doesn't earn grade in my school. Don't dare try.

9.  ATBU is hard because it is design that way. Every Technical Institution is EXTRA! This is why only few get the opportunity to gain admission and eventually graduate from America's MIT.

10. ATBU is hard because many people who got there are not ready for the school. Including myself.

Never in the history of ATBU had they conduct post UTME! If you have the requirement to be absorbed, they will. But get ready to get muzzled squeezed and sieved in your 100 level.

This is why Patience, Resilience, Durability, Dedication, Hardwork, Diligence, Ethics and Morality are not just words to each and every Balewite, they are lifestyle!
