Her appointment as the sixth Registrar of the institution was approved by the Governing Council at an emergency meeting held on March 16, 2026. The five-year tenure takes effect from April 1, 2026.
Dr. Babalola, a seasoned administrator, began her academic journey at Olabisi Onabanjo University, where she graduated as the best student in the Faculty of Law with a Second-Class Upper Division in 1999. She proceeded to the Nigerian Law School and was called to the Bar in 2001.
She further obtained a Master of Business Administration from Ambrose Alli University in 2009, and later earned both a Master of Laws and a Doctor of Philosophy in Law from the same institution in 2018 and 2024 respectively.
Before her appointment, Dr. Babalola served as Deputy Registrar and Head of the Academic Affairs Division, bringing decades of administrative experience to the role.

She joined the university in 2009 as a Senior Assistant Registrar and Head of the Legal Unit and has since held several strategic positions, including Acting Development Officer (Endowment), Principal Assistant Registrar in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Head of Academic Staff Establishment in the Personnel Division, and Deputy Registrar in charge of Council Affairs.
Beyond administrative duties, she has served on numerous university committees and has been engaged in academic work as a part-time lecturer since 2019. Her scholarly contributions include publications in academic journals and forthcoming books focused on education law, leadership, and governance in university administration.
Dr. Babalola is affiliated with several professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Corporate Administrators, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators, and the International Federation of Women Lawyers, among others.
She has also participated in academic conferences and leadership programmes at institutions such as the University of Manchester, University of Cambridge, and University of Oxford, in addition to engagements in South Africa and other international platforms.
