UNICAL to Graduate 10,820 Students, 52 Bag First-Class Honours at 38th Convocation
University of Calabar is set to graduate a total of 10,820 students, including 52 first-class graduates, at its 38th convocation ceremony scheduled for Saturday.
University of Calabar is set to graduate a total of 10,820 students, including 52 first-class graduates, at its 38th convocation ceremony scheduled for Saturday.
A breakdown of the graduating class shows 152 diploma recipients, 9,173 first-degree graduates, and 1,495 postgraduate students.
Speaking at a press conference, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Offiong Efanga Offiong, said the institution expects the convocation to reinforce its academic standing and project its values to a wider audience.
He expressed optimism that the event would provide an opportunity for stakeholders and partners to amplify the university’s contributions and achievements on a global scale.

The convocation programme will feature a series of activities, including an interdenominational service, research fair and exhibition, congregation meeting, convocation lecture, command performance, and the formal award of diplomas and degrees. A gala night is also scheduled for PhD graduates.
The convocation lecture will be delivered by Garba Ayodeji Wahab, with a focus on “Redefining National Security in an Era of Endemic Insecurity: The Role of Tertiary Institutions.”
