ABU Academics Appointed to TETFund National Research Fund Committee

Five academics from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) have been appointed to the TETFund National Research Fund Screening and Monitoring Committee (NRFS&MC).

The appointments were made by the Federal Government and announced by the Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Arc. Sonny S.T. Echono.

The 55-member committee, chaired by Prof. Hayward Mafuyai Babale (former Vice-Chancellor, University of Jos), and vice-chaired by Prof. Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun (Lagos State University), comprises representatives from federal and state universities, Nigerian Defence Academy, Association of African Universities, and Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Members also include representatives from the National Board for Technical Education, National Universities Commission, and National Commission for Colleges of Education, as well as union representatives from ASUU, ASUP, and COEASU.

The committee's tenure is for two years, effective from the date of inauguration, and its responsibilities include pre-qualifying research grant applications, categorizing proposals, and recommending qualified applications.
