1. Basic (IJMB) Programme:
If you’re an ambitious student aiming for Direct Entry into any Nigerian University, ABU’s IJMB programme is tailored just for you. It’s an Advanced Level Programme that spans for a dedicated period of Twelve (12) months.
2. Remedial Programme:
The Remedial programme serves as a bridge, lasting up to Nine (9) months. Successful completion of this programme promises admission into the renowned ABU Zaria.
ABU IJMB Admission Requirements
Before applying for the IJMB programme, you need to be aware of the following criteria:
Applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) credits, which includes English Language and Mathematics. This should be acquired in not more than two attempts. Here are some of the subject combinations you can consider:
Basic Science 1: Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Basic Science 2: Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics
Basic Science 3: Physics, Chemistry and Geology
Basic Science 4: Chemistry, Geography and Physics
Basic Science 5: Geography, Mathematics and Physics
Basic Science 6: Chemistry, Geology and Physics
Once admitted, candidates are required to register for JAMB Direct Entry Admission.
The IJMB programme lasts for twelve (12) months.
ABU Remedial Admission Requirements
For those eyeing the Remedial programme, here’s what you need to know:
Candidates should possess at least three (3) credits in science subjects. This should be in not more than one attempt. You can choose from the following subject combinations:
Remedial Science 1: English, Biology, Chemistry and Geography
Remedial Science 2: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Remedial Science 3: English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Geography
Remedial Science 4: English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Geography
If you’re admitted, you need to register and achieve credit level in the SSCE or NECO for subjects where you’re deficient.
Also, registering for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is a must. Ensure you meet the minimum pass mark set by the Federal Government and select Ahmadu Bello University as your first choice.
The Remedial programme also spans twelve (12) months.

Head to the official SBRS site sbrs.abu.edu.ng.
Click on either ‘Create Account’ (for new users) or ‘Please Login’ (for returnees).
Provide your details as prompted, and once your account is set, log in using your credentials.
Now, choose your desired programme: Remedial or Basic/IJMB.
Ensure you complete your profile: from biodata to O’Level details and a photo upload.
Lastly, click on ‘Buy Form’ and proceed to ‘Pay Online’. You can either complete the payment online using an ATM card or print the transaction page and pay at any commercial bank.
