ABU VC Commends Centres of Excellence for Contributions

The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Kabiru Bala, has commended the institution's three centres of excellence for their tremendous contributions to the development of the university in the last five years.

 

The centres are Africa Centre of Excellence on Neglected Tropical Diseases and Forensic Biotechnology (ACENTDFB), Africa Centre of Excellence on New Pedagogies in Engineering Education (ACENPEE), and  Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Enhancement Centre of Excellence (SPESSECE).

 

Prof. Bala gave the commendation at a meeting of the University Senate held today (Thursday, 24th April, 2025).

The Vice-Chancellor disclosed that the research centres had contributed over one  billion Naira to the University.

 

Bala said the centres had assisted ABU, particularly in providing structures, workshops and overseas training for staff, stressing that they had been pillars in funding some activities of the University.

The centres, according to him, had also contributed tremendously to the subscription of the quality internet services the University is currently enjoying.

 

The Vice-Chancellor thanked the centres and appreciated the Centre Leaders and Principal Investigators for their generosity .
