Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Clarifies Eid-el-Fitr Holiday Rumors

The Management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) has issued a circular to debunk a rumor circulating within and outside the university community.

The rumor claimed that the university management had added Wednesday, 2nd to Friday, 4th April, 2025 to the existing two-day public holidays granted by the Federal Government to mark Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

According to the circular, the university management has no authority to add extra days to the public holidays approved by the Federal Government. Therefore, normal work activities will resume on Wednesday, 2nd April, 2025.

The university management has warned those spreading the rumor to desist from such acts, emphasizing that the institution will not tolerate the spread of false information.

The circular, signed by the Registrar, was addressed to the entire university community and the general public, serving as an official clarification on the matter.
