Academic History of Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, New Minister of Women Affairs

Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, the newly appointed Minister of Women Affairs, brings a remarkable academic background to her role, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Raised in Abuja, she began her educational journey at Aruwa Nursery School before moving to Jabi Primary School, now known as LEA Primary School, Jabi. 

For her secondary education, Imaan attended the prestigious Federal Government Girls College in Bwari, Abuja. She later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Abuja. Demonstrating her dedication to higher education, Imaan achieved two Master’s degrees by the age of 21—an MBA and an MA in Management—both from Webster University in St. Louis (London Campus). 

Currently, Imaan is pursuing a Doctoral degree in Security and Strategic Studies at the Nigeria Defence Academy, showcasing her commitment to further academic excellence.

In addition to her impressive educational qualifications, Imaan co-founded the BumbleeBee Civic Initiative, formerly known as The Beehive Initiative, where she serves as President. This platform focuses on mentoring politically inclined women and promoting grassroots civic awareness.

As she assumes office, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim marks the beginning of a new era for Nigerian women, children, and vulnerable citizens. Her appointment follows the reshuffling of President Bola Tinubu's cabinet, where she replaces former Minister Uju-Ken Ohaneneye. Prior to this, Imaan held various positions, including Minister of State for Police Affairs, and has a history of public service, including a brief tenure as director-general of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

With her strong academic foundation and dedication to community service, Imaan is poised to make significant contributions to the Ministry of Women Affairs.
