ADUN Holds Valedictory and Welcome Ceremony for Outgoing Officers
The Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) successfully hosted a valedictory and welcome ceremony on October 15, 2025, to honor outgoing officers Captain H.Y. Aliyu and Commodore Amatare Kpou (Rtd) while officially welcoming Captain Emmanuel Onu.

The event, marked by a warm, celebratory, and appreciative atmosphere, highlighted the contributions of the outgoing officers and set expectations for the incoming officer.
Presided over by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Rear Admiral M.M. Abdullahi, representing Vice-Chancellor Professor Christopher Bankole Ndubuisi Ogbogbo, the ceremony saw significant attendance from senior management, academic and non-academic staff, and well-wishers.
University Registrar Commodore Isaac Mankilik delivered the opening address, praising Captain H.Y. Aliyu for his remarkable contributions within just one year, notably introducing and promoting Archery and Tennis to enrich ADUN’s extracurricular and sporting life. He lauded Aliyu’s dedication, professionalism, and positive spirit during his tenure.

Tributes from various departments, staff, and university management followed, commending Captain Aliyu’s humility, eagerness to learn, and pivotal role in the digital transformation of the Bursary Unit, aligning with the unit’s ERP transition. His departure, though deeply felt, leaves a lasting legacy in the programs and structures he helped develop.
In his keynote address, Rear Admiral M.M. Abdullahi, speaking for the Vice-Chancellor, acknowledged the divine purpose of human collaboration and celebrated Captain Aliyu’s exemplary service, humility, and commitment, urging him to pursue lifelong learning and growth in future endeavors.
Addressing Captain Emmanuel Onu, the DVC advised strategic integration into ADUN’s system, emphasizing the importance of understanding institutional culture and fostering harmonious inter-departmental relationships to ensure success in his new role.
Rear Admiral M.M. Abdullahi concluded by stressing that unity, cooperation, and purpose are vital for individual and institutional progress, setting an optimistic tone for ADUN’s future.
