ADUSTECH SUG Announces Postponement of 2026 Freshers' Day Over Security Concerns
The Students' Union Government (SUG) of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, has officially announced the postponement of its highly anticipated 2026 Freshers' Day celebration.
In a formal notice issued today, February 10, 2026, the SUG President, Sen. Hassan Sunusi Kani, stated that the decision was necessitated by critical security intelligence and the need to ensure the safety of the entire university community.
The event, which was originally scheduled to take place in February 2026 at the University Convocation Arena, serves as a major social landmark for new students. However, following safety considerations, the Union leadership determined that a delay was the most responsible course of action.
"The safety and well-being of our students remain our top priority," the statement read. "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation."
While a specific new date has not been set, the SUG assured students that:
New Communication: A revised date will be announced once the security situation is deemed safe.
Activity Continuity: Planned activities, including music, dance performances, and social interactions coordinated by the Social Director, Abubakar Gambo Banru, are expected to proceed at the rescheduled time.
The notice was signed by the 2025/2026 Executive Council, including Secretary General Sen. Abdullahi Sabo Nepa and Public Relation Officer Ibrahim Abdulmumin Aboki. The SUG continues to urge students to remain vigilant and follow official university channels for further updates.
