Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, has emerged as the top Nigerian university at the 16th Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition, held from May 14th to 21st, 2024.

The university's team, comprising Okechukwu Amarachi Sharon and Okeosisi Amarachi Miracle, both 500-level law students, demonstrated exceptional expertise and passion for human rights, outshining over 20 Nigerian universities and securing a spot to represent Nigeria in Switzerland.

The Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition is an international mooting competition for law undergraduates and masters' students from universities worldwide. The 16th edition of the competition adopted a hybrid format, with the in-person grand finale scheduled to take place at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, from July 15th to 19th, 2024.
