Ahmadu Bello University Department of Urban and Regional Planning Pays Courtesy Call to Vice-Chancellor

Staff members and students of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Environmental Design, Ahmadu Bello University, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adamu Ahmed, at his conference room.

The visit was a decision of the Departmental Board of Studies, aimed at congratulating the Vice-Chancellor on his appointment and wishing him success throughout his tenure.

The Head of Department, Dr. Yakubu Bununu, highlighted that the appointment of Professor Ahmed as Vice-Chancellor was a reflection of his diligence, commitment, and hard work. He also mentioned that alumni members of the department from around the world had sent congratulatory messages, underscoring the department's pride in their esteemed colleague.

Professor Ahmed expressed gratitude for the visit, acknowledging the department's significant role in his appointment as Vice-Chancellor. He encouraged staff and students to give back to the community at every opportunity and urged them to support the Head of Department and Unit Heads within the department .

Professor Adamu Ahmed is a renowned scholar in Urban Planning and Management with over three decades of experience in academics, professional practice, and public service. Before becoming Vice-Chancellor, he held various leadership positions, including Head of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Deputy Director of ABU Consultancy Services, and Director of the University Advancement Directorate .
