 In a heartwarming display of community service, the Rotary Club of Akowonjo has launched a transformative ‘Back to School’ initiative aimed at empowering primary school students in Shasha, Lagos. Led by President Ben Dare, the project took place at the Rauf Aregbesola Primary School Compound and has directly benefited over 400 students by providing them with essential educational tools.

This initiative is part of the Rotary Club’s Basic Education and Literacy Project, underscoring its commitment to fostering a culture of learning and literacy among Nigeria's youth. The program supplies students with vital resources, including school bags, books, stationery, and water bottles, helping to level the educational playing field and ensure that every child has an opportunity to succeed.

“Education is power. It gives you the leverage to be a better citizen and contribute to nation-building,” said Dare during the initiative's launch. He emphasized the importance of nurturing the younger generation to keep hope alive for a brighter Nigeria. “As a nation, it’s the hope of every one of us to take up the challenge and the responsibility of nurturing the younger generation.”
