AKSU Acting VC Graces COE Afaha Nsit Combined Convocation Ceremony
The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), Professor Otoabasi Akpan, was among the distinguished dignitaries who attended the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th Combined Convocation Ceremony of the Akwa Ibom State College of Education (COE), Afaha Nsit.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), Professor Otoabasi Akpan, was among the distinguished dignitaries who attended the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th Combined Convocation Ceremony of the Akwa Ibom State College of Education (COE), Afaha Nsit, held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the College Sports Ground, Afaha Nsit, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area.

The landmark event marked the formal graduation of six cohorts of students and featured the commissioning of several Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) projects. The ceremony attracted an array of guests, including members of the academia, government officials, traditional rulers, and community stakeholders.
In his goodwill message, Professor Otoabasi Akpan congratulated the graduating students on their academic achievement and commended the management of the College for its commitment to excellence and infrastructural development. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration among tertiary institutions in Akwa Ibom State to further strengthen the quality of education and research.
Other dignitaries and heads of tertiary institutions present at the event also delivered goodwill messages, acknowledging the College’s critical role in producing qualified teachers and promoting educational advancement within and beyond the state.

Highlights of the ceremony included the presentation of certificates, award of excellence, and the commissioning of new TETFund-sponsored projects aimed at improving the learning environment and academic productivity.
The event reinforced the College’s growing reputation as a centre of excellence in teacher education, dedicated to contributing meaningfully to the educational development of Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large.
