The Vice-Chancellor of Aletheia University, Ago-Iwoye, Prof. Amos Onasanya, has issued a stern warning to the inaugural cohort of 33 students, urging them to steer clear of negative influences such as cultism, substance abuse, and improper dressing that could derail their academic pursuits and future prospects.

During the university's maiden matriculation ceremony held at the Senate Building Foyer on Saturday, Prof. Onasanya emphasized the institution's commitment to maintaining high standards and providing an ideal learning environment. He congratulated the fresh students on their admission following a rigorous selection process across the university's three colleges and 17 academic programs.

Addressing the students, Prof. Onasanya underscored the importance of academic diligence, adherence to school regulations, and avoidance of detrimental behaviors. He highlighted the university's comprehensive support system aimed at ensuring academic excellence, urging the students to focus on their studies to maximize their educational opportunities.

Furthermore, the Vice-Chancellor outlined the university's unique offering of four certificates upon graduation, including degrees in their respective fields of study along with certifications in ICT, entrepreneurship, and professional courses. He also revealed plans for expansion, aiming to establish six colleges and increase academic programs to 32 within the next two years.

In his remarks, Major-General Sansadeen Awosanya (retd.), the Founder and Chancellor of Aletheia University, expressed delight at witnessing the matriculation of the pioneer students, describing it as the realization of a long-held vision. He assured the students of his support in achieving their academic goals.

Earlier in the event, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, delivered a matriculation lecture titled "Paradigm shift in University Education: The Aletheia University Perspective." He urged Nigerian universities to innovate and enhance their academic offerings amidst increasing competition in the education sector.

The event was attended by distinguished personalities including the university's Pro-Chancellor, Dr. (Mrs.) Onikepo Akande, Senator Lekan Mustapha, Hon. Adesegun Adekoya, Oba Abdulrazaq Adenugba, Prince Feyisayo Soyewo, and Prof. Saburi Adesanya, among others.
