According to reports,the three students,Olamide Gbadegeshin,Aduwo Olayinka,and Nice Linuse,were summoned before a "disciplinary committee." This action by the university management is viewed by some as an attempt to intimidate the students.
In response, Amnesty International took to X.com, stating: “Amnesty International calls on the University of Ibadan to rescind plans to expel 3 students for exercising their human right by participating in a protest against an outrageous fee hike that — so far — has forced many students to withdraw from university education.”

The organization further criticized the university's actions, pointing out the detrimental effects of the drastic fee increases on families already struggling due to the current economic challenges in the country. “In utter disregard for the impact of the current economic hardship on already struggling families nationwide, some public universities increased their fees by 1000%. This poses a threat to guaranteeing the right to quality education for all.”They added.
