About Babura: Babura is a Local Government Area located in the northern part of Jigawa State, Nigeria. It borders Baure Local Government Area of Katsina State to the north, Kazaure to the west, Sule Tankarkar to the east, and Danbatta Local Government Area of Kano State to the south. This strategic location provides the School of Midwifery Babura with a diverse student intake from various regions.

Establishment and Governance: The School of Midwifery Babura was established as a full-fledged training institution by His Excellency Alh. Baradu Muhammad Abubakar (MNI) with an initial intake of 30 students. It operates under the umbrella of the Jigawa State College of Nursing Science, a structure created in alignment with recent reforms in nursing education. The establishment of the College was formalized by State Law Number 7, signed into law by the former Executive Governor, His Excellency Alh. Sule Lamido.
Programmes Offered: The institution offers a comprehensive three-year Basic Nursing and Basic Midwifery programme. This curriculum is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the field. Following their studies, graduates are required to complete a one-year mandatory community service, which is essential for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
