Bauchi Gov't Sets Up 3-Member Panel on ASUU–SAZU MoU Implementation
Bauchi State Government has inaugurated a tripartite Committee for the implementation of the 11 points Memorandum of Understanding MoU signed between the government and the Academic Staff Union Of Universities ASUU Sa'adu Zungur University Chapter.
Inaugurating the Committee, the Commissioner of Higher Education and Regional Integration , Dr Hadiza Abdulkadir Kango said the committee comprises of the Permanent Secretary Government House Yakubu Jibrin Abdullahi, as well as representatives of the ministry of Justice and ASUU SAZU.
Dr Hadiza Kango urged the committee to work inline with the framework and agreement as well as give an objective feedback towards resolving all issue for the progress of the institution and state in general.
"Inview of the signing of an 11 points MoU between the State government and ASUU SAZU chapter, which ended the strike action by the union, the government decided to inaugurate a tripartite committee on the implementation of the MoU. I want to urge the committee to do the right things and always give feedback in the cause of its duty, operates in line with its mandate and framework for progress of the institution", Kango highlights.
Speaking on behalf of members of the committee, the Permanent Secretary Government House Yakubu Jibrin Abdullahi assures to work in synergy with all stakeholders by providing all necessary feedback in the cause of its assignment to ensure it operates in line with its mandate and framework.
On his part, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Isa Muhammad Tahir who acknowledged that the committee should have been constituted a long time ago, express optimism that the members will deliver on their mandate for speedy implementation of all agreements.
The Tripartite Committee which has three membership composition to ensure speedy for adoption, consideration and implementation by government has no specified time limit to submit its report.
