Bayero University Kano Announces New Appointments

Bayero University Kano (BUK) has announced the appointment of several staff members to various positions, effective December 2024.

Professor Ismail Muhammad Zango has been appointed as the Director, Center for Economics, Social and Population Research (CESPOR). Dr. Sabiu Zakari Yerima will serve as the Director, Security Services.

Other appointments include Professor Mustapha Karkarna as the Head, Department of Human Physiology, and Dr. Musa Ibrahim Kurawa as the Head, Department of Environmental Sciences. Dr. Ado Haruna will lead the Department of Mechatronics, while Dr. Muhammad Sabiu Suleiman will head the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension.

Additionally, Dr. Rukayat Ninilola Banjo has been appointed as the Head, Department of Theatre and Performing Arts. Dr. Ali Bala Umar will serve as the Dean, Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences, and Professor Kamilu Musa Karaye will lead the Faculty of Clinical Sciences. Dr. Kabiru Abdussalam has been appointed as the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Rasin.

These appointments are aimed at strengthening the university's academic and administrative capabilities. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, has congratulated the appointees and expressed his confidence in their ability to contribute to the university's growth and development.
