Bayero University Kano Students' Union Urges Timely Submission of Data to NELFUND
The Students' Union Government (SUG) of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has urged the university administration to promptly submit students' data to the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The Students' Union Government (SUG) of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has appealed to the university administration to expedite the submission of students’ data to the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for the 2024/2025 academic session.
In a letter dated March 24, 2025, addressed to the Vice-Chancellor through the Dean of Students' Affairs, the SUG expressed concern that BUK was not included in the recent list of institutions that had submitted their students' data. The union emphasized the urgency of the matter, noting that the delay could hinder students from accessing much-needed financial support.
The letter, signed by the SUG President, Comrade Abdullahi Usman Baba, also called on the university to ensure that students from the School of Continuing Education (SCE) are included in the submission. The union pointed out that SCE students were previously excluded and urged the administration to rectify this in the current process.
"We kindly urge your office to prioritize this submission to ensure our fellow students can access the financial support they need," the letter read.
The SUG acknowledged the university administration’s efforts in facilitating student welfare and expressed optimism that the issue would be resolved promptly. The union reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for students' rights and ensuring equitable access to educational resources.
As the deadline for submission approaches, students at BUK are hopeful that the university will take swift action to ensure they are not left out of the NELFUND initiative.
