The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Bayero University, Kano, has formally reported an incident involving a lecturer from the School of Continuing Education (SCE) who allegedly humiliated a pregnant student during an examination.

In a letter addressed to the Director of the Servicon Unit, the SUG outlined the incident that occurred on October 19, 2024, in the Sociology Department. The affected student, Zainab Sanusi, reportedly experienced discomfort and distress after Dr. Ilyasu Salisu, the Head of the Education Department at SCE, instructed her to kneel down in the exam hall.

The SUG has called for a prompt investigation into the incident, requesting disciplinary action against the lecturer if found guilty. They emphasized the need for support and protection for the affected student, condemning the lecturer's actions as unacceptable and in violation of the institution's service delivery standards.
