Bishop Calistus Onaga to Make Historic Pastoral Visit to ESUT

The Catholic Bishop of Enugu, Most Rev. Calistus Onaga, is set to make an official pastoral visit to the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. This visit promises to be a momentous occasion for the university community and the Catholic faithful.

During his visit, Bishop Onaga will undertake three significant functions: blessing the university community, administering the sacrament of confirmation at St. Albert The Great Chaplaincy, and blessing the new Chapel of Perpetual Adoration, which is currently under construction. These activities reflect the bishop's commitment to fostering spiritual growth and community engagement within the university.

In preparation for His Lordship's visit, the ESUT Catholic Community of St. Albert The Great Chaplaincy has organized several events. A Rosary procession is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, 2024, at 2 PM, followed by Mass and adoration. Additionally, a Mass Wedding will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024, culminating in the reception of First Holy Communion on Sunday, November 17, 2024.

Bishop Onaga's visit comes just weeks after the university's Catholic community held a get-together Mass and prayer session in September, further highlighting the ongoing spiritual activities within ESUT. The upcoming pastoral visit is anticipated to strengthen the bonds of faith and community within the university, and all members of the ESUT family are encouraged to participate in the planned activities.
