Blaze Engulfs Kano School: Nine Classrooms and Six Offices Destroyed in Fire Outbreak

On June 11th, 2024, the Kano State Fire Service confirmed a devastating fire outbreak at the School of Technology, located on Mayan Fada Road. According to Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer of the service, the agency received a distress call from Faisal Dauda reporting the fire incident.

Responding swiftly, the fire service mobilized a team to the scene. Despite their efforts, the fire consumed a building spanning 500 X 500ft, which housed nine classrooms and six offices. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

This incident echoes a similar tragedy in December 2023, when a fire ravaged 22 shops in Gwarzo market, also in Kano State, resulting in significant financial losses for the affected traders.
