The Management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) is bringing to the attention of the University community an allegation involving some individuals requesting a percentage of approved funds for conference attendance and workshops from beneficiaries, contrary to approved guidelines.

A letter from TETFund, signed by Garba Muhammad Sabonsara, Assistant Director of Academic Staff Training and Development, condemns such acts and warns that any individual found culpable will face disciplinary actions.

TETFund emphasizes that beneficiaries should not grant such requests, and draws attention to Section 38(2)(iii) of the TETFund Intervention Guidelines, which states that "Beneficiary Institutions shall not surcharge nominees or deduct any amount from approved funds for conference/workshop attendance".
