BUK VC Urges Students to Make Best Use of FG Scholarship
The Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Professor Haruna Musa, has advised students who are beneficiaries of the Federal Government's Scholarship Scheme to utilize the funds prudently and focus on their academic pursuits.
Professor Musa emphasized that the scholarship is designed to alleviate financial burdens and enable students to concentrate on their studies.
A total of 357 BUK students have been awarded scholarships under the scheme, with categories including the Nigerian Scholarship Award, Education Bursary Award, and President's NYSC Ex-Corps Scholarship Award. The beneficiaries will receive between N300,000 and N500,000, depending on their level of study.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0 out of 5.0. The Vice Chancellor commended the Federal Government for its continued support to Nigerian students and assured the visiting team of the university management's full cooperation during the verification exercise.
The Federal Scholarship Board team, led by Alhaji Suleiman Yunusa, visited BUK to present ministerial approval documents and conduct physical verification of beneficiaries between August 25th and 29th, 2025.
