Set to unfold at the Multipurpose Hall on Caleb University's campus along Km 15, Ikorodu-Itoikin Road, Imota, Lagos, the lecture promises to delve into the intriguing nexus of history, philosophy, industry, and modern biotechnology.
Titled "From Abraham, the Greek Philosophers, Housewives, the French Industrialist to Modern Biotechnology: Microbial Enzyme Research for Food Security," the lecture will be delivered by Prof. Adesola Adetutu Ajayi, a distinguished professor of Microbiology and a seasoned scholar renowned for her expertise in the field.
Prof. Ajayi, presently serving as the Director of Quality Assurance at Caleb University, boasts a remarkable academic journey, having obtained her B.Sc, M.Sc., and PhD in Microbiology with a specialization in Microbial Physiology (Enzymology) and Biotechnology from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife.
With an illustrious career spanning academic leadership and groundbreaking research, Prof. Ajayi has garnered numerous accolades both locally and internationally. Notably, she was honored as Nigeria's Outstanding Lecturer of the Year in 2021, underscoring her dedication to excellence in the educational sector.
Her research contributions have been recognized on various platforms, including winning the best paper presentation at the International Conference on Medical and Health Science (ICMHS) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2015. Additionally, her team's innovations, such as the development of a Post-Harvest Storage System for tomato preservation and a patent for research on Parkia Biglobosa Seed (Iru), have earned widespread acclaim.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nosa Owens-Ibie, will preside over the proceedings, extending a cordial invitation to colleagues, friends, family, and associates of Prof. Ajayi to attend this significant event.
