The Department of Linguistics and African Languages at the Federal University Lokoja (FULokoja) achieved a significant milestone with its inaugural Academic Seminar, led by the Acting Head of the Department, Dr. Tósìn Ọlágúnjú. Titled "Our Language, Our Identity: The Investigation of Multilingual Lokoja," the seminar delved into the inseparable relationship between language and identity, sparking profound discussions among lecturers and students alike.

 Dr. Ọlágúnjú's paper emphasized the vital role of indigenous languages in preserving cultural heritage and identity, urging parents to instill the importance of native languages in their children.
