 Redeemer's University, in its commitment to recognizing academic excellence, has secured a pledge from the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Sesby Travels Limited, Lagos, Mrs. Adeola Sesby-Banjoh. The pledge entails an endowment of fifty thousand naira each for the best graduating female student in Hospitality and Tourism Studies with a minimum of second-class upper division, and the best-graduating student in Transport Management, for the next decade.

Mrs. Sesby-Banjoh, a tourism expert, made this announcement during the inaugural Faculty of Management Science Lecture Series held at the Sapetro Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Engineering building. Emphasizing the nexus between theoretical knowledge and practical applications in education, Mrs. Sesby-Banjoh highlighted the importance of theory in understanding real-life situations. She stressed the significance of employers facilitating seamless integration and transition for new employees, focusing on talent management, performance, and development.

Furthermore, Mrs. Adeola underscored that the objective of employee integration transcends profit-making, emphasizing the importance of employee satisfaction and fulfillment. She urged employers to provide support and resources for employees facing challenges, advocating for teamwork over unhealthy competition to achieve organizational goals.

In her address to the students, Mrs. Sesby-Banjoh encouraged them to pursue internships in organizations, citing the invaluable real-time experience gained. Professor Kenneth Okpala, a lecturer in the Accounting department at the Faculty of Management Science, echoed this sentiment, noting that in developed countries, course selection is influenced by industry needs. He called on employers to cultivate productive environments for employees to thrive, lamenting the decreasing presence of training schools for graduates in major Nigerian companies, which impacts overall productivity.
