The strike action, in compliance with directives from the national bodies of the two unions, seeks to address what members perceive as unfair treatment and salary disparities by the Federal Government.

The university's Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, confirmed that the ongoing examinations remained unaffected by the strike action. He assured stakeholders that special arrangements had been made to ensure the seamless continuation of academic activities during the period of the strike.
