Covenant University has achieved a significant milestone by emerging as the top university in West Africa and the third-best university in Africa in the newly released Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Research (ISR) Rankings for 2025.

Covenant University has achieved a significant milestone by emerging as the top university in West Africa and the third-best university in Africa in the newly released Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Research (ISR) Rankings for 2025.

The rankings, which assessed the interdisciplinary science contributions of universities worldwide, placed Covenant University at 73rd globally, 1st in Nigeria, and 1st in West Africa. The inaugural ISR rankings evaluated a total of 749 universities from 92 countries and highlighted the outstanding performance of universities like Landmark University, which ranked 2nd in Nigeria and 251-300 globally.

During a Chapel Service where the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, shared the news, he expressed his gratitude to God, attributing the achievement to the university's vision and divine intervention. "This is indeed a validation of our visionary base as a university. It is the hand of God at work in Covenant University, and we give God all the glory!" he said. He also credited the transformational leadership of Dr. David Oyedepo, the Chancellor, for the continued success of the institution.

Professor Adebayo elaborated on the significance of interdisciplinary science, emphasizing the integration of knowledge from multiple scientific disciplines to tackle complex problems. He explained that the THE Interdisciplinary Science Research ranking measures the university's contributions in three key areas: inputs (19%), processes (16%), and outputs (65%), assessing aspects like research quality, collaboration, and impact.

Covenant University's stellar performance in this ranking further reinforces its position as a leading institution in higher education and research, committed to producing global leaders and innovative solutions in all fields of human endeavor.
