Deaconess Faith E. Emmanuel: Ritman University's First Female Registrar
Ritman University has appointed Deaconess Faith Eyefuginghin Emmanuel, a seasoned administrator with over three decades of experience, as its 2nd substantive Registrar and the first female to hold the post.
Ritman University, Ikot Ekpene, has announced the appointment of Deaconess Faith Eyefuginghin Emmanuel as its 2nd substantive Registrar — and notably, the first woman to hold the position in the institution’s history.
A native of Ode Itsekiri in Warri Local Government Area of Delta State, Deaconess Emmanuel was born on September 22, 1970, in Lagos. She brings to her new role over three decades of experience in university administration, alongside a strong academic background.
Her journey in the Nigerian university system spans 31 years, the bulk of which was spent at the University of Uyo (UNIUYO), where she also began her academic pursuit. She earned a B.Sc. in Sociology and Anthropology from the then Cross River State University (now UNIUYO) in 1992, and later obtained an M.Sc. in Sociology (Community and Rural Development) in 2003.
Deaconess Emmanuel joined UNIUYO as an Administrative Officer II in 1994 and rose through the ranks to become Director of the Directorate of Staff Training in 2022 — a position she held until her appointment at Ritman University. Over the years, she headed several key administrative units, including the Admissions Unit, Examination Unit, Staff Training Unit, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Senate Unit. She also served as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Sociology at UNIUYO’s School of Continuing Education.
Beyond the university walls, Deaconess Emmanuel has made notable contributions to professional associations and staff welfare. She served as National Assistant Secretary of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) between 2014 and 2018, and as Vice-Chairperson of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), UNIUYO branch, from 2008 to 2010. She is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Manpower Development and Industrial Relations (NIMDRI).
A public speaker, trainer, and devout Christian, Deaconess Emmanuel serves as a Deaconess at Full Life Christian Centre, Uyo.
Ritman University described her appointment as a major step forward in strengthening its administrative leadership, expressing confidence that her wealth of experience will enhance the institution’s record-keeping, governance, and overall service delivery.
