Dr. Christiana F. Zumyil Re-appointed as FCE Pankshin Acting Provost

The Federal College of Education, Pankshin (FCE Pankshin), welcomes the re-appointment of Dr. Mrs. Christiana Fwenji Zumyil, MSTAN, JP, LKSJI, as Acting Provost for an additional six months. This decision by the Federal Government of Nigeria extends Dr. Zumyil's tenure to oversee the college's administrative affairs until the appointment of a substantive Provost is finalized.

Dr. Zumyil's re-appointment, effective July 5, 2024, was confirmed in a statement from Dr. U. C. Uba of the Ministry of Education, endorsed by the Honorable Minister Prof. Tukur Mamman. The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Mr. Andrew David Adejo, conveyed best wishes to Dr. Zumyil in a letter accompanying her re-appointment.

Having assumed office following the retirement of Dr. Amos Bulus Cirfat last year, Dr. Zumyil previously served as Deputy Provost of the college. She has since made significant strides, including the successful fencing of the college and staff quarters—a crucial initiative aimed at enhancing security and preventing land encroachment.

Dr. Zumyil's tenure marks a milestone as the first woman to hold the position of Acting Provost at FCE Pankshin since its establishment in 1974. Her leadership has been pivotal in continuing the legacy of educational excellence and institutional growth initiated by her predecessors.
