Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has implemented significant changes in the compensation and tuition structure of Ebonyi State University, with a 20% increase in the salaries of senior staff and a 10% increase for junior staff. Additionally, the governor announced a 10% reduction in school fees for university students.
The announcement was made during the 12th-15th convocation ceremony at Ebonyi State University, where Governor Nwifuru addressed the graduands and encouraged them to actively contribute to nation-building. He also urged them to shun social vices, including corruption, ethnic bigotry, religious intolerance, violence, and indiscipline, emphasizing that they are the future leaders of the country.

The governor also rewarded academic excellence by offering automatic employment to all first-class graduates in the state. This initiative is expected to motivate students to strive for academic success and contribute positively to the community upon graduation.
