The Ekiti State Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), successfully conducted a Safe Space Holiday Empowerment Boot Camp for girls last week at the Transit Home in Ado-Ekiti. This three-day event aimed to equip adolescent girls with essential life skills and personal development tools.

Dr. Kofoworola Aderiye, Commissioner for Education, emphasized the boot camp's goal to help the participants navigate the complexities of maturity. She highlighted that the initiative is designed to build self-confidence and distinguish between assertiveness and aggression. "We are teaching them life skills to help them transition into adulthood, and to understand the difference between being timid and being humble," Dr. Aderiye stated.

The event was also attended by key figures including Mrs. Yewande Adesua, Project Coordinator of AGILE; Taiwo Olatubosun, Commissioner for Information; and Mr. Michael Omolayo, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education. Omolayo expressed gratitude to Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his support in ensuring the success of AGILE's Safe Space initiative.
